Announcing new feature:  Volunteer Spotlight

The Adult Recognitions Task Group announces a new feature in our council recognition program, a volunteer spotlight!

Martha "Marty" Devereaux-Poch

For more than 20 years, Martha “Marty” Devereaux-Poch has worked her way through many roles, including troop leader, service unit co-manager and event coordinator, national delegate, and is now a council trainer and Gold Award advisor. She has inspired many girls to complete their Gold Award and believes that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to do. As a trainer, Marty provides support for leaders that goes beyond the outlines and ensures that the girls are the focus of the Girl Scouting program. She makes herself especially available to pick up last-minute training emergencies and has made huge contributions to the revision of the outdoor training outlines. Marty has also put in countless hours at different camps, facilitating programming or cooking for hungry scouts on You & Me weekends, and so she continues to feeds the girls in our council in many different ways.

If you would like to suggest a volunteer for the Volunteer Spotlight feature, send a brief description of the volunteer’s service and a photo, if possible, to AdultRecognition@girlscoutsgcnwi.org.
